Leuze HTU318-400.3/4PK-M12 Ultrasonic Sensor
The Leuze HTU318-400.3/4PK-M12 Ultrasonic Sensor utilizes diffuse reflection with background suppression to accurately detect objects in industrial environments. This sensor is designed to operate within a 0.05 to 0.4 m range, making it ideal for applications requiring short-range object detection. The sensor’s ultrasonic frequency of 300 kHz provides high precision and ensures that it works well even in challenging environments where optical sensors may struggle.
The opening angle of 8° ensures that the sensor has a focused detection area, while the resolution of < 2 mm and repeatability of 0.5% ensure reliable and precise measurements. Its ability to handle temperature drift (5%) and switching hysteresis (1%) makes it adaptable for varying environmental conditions.
With a response time of 50 ms, it can be used in high-speed processes, and the switching frequency of 10 Hz allows for effective detection and signaling. The sensor offers both signal input and signal output functionality, with selectable switching outputs (NC or NO), making it versatile for various application needs.
The sensor is built with a plastic housing made of Polybutylene (PBT), which provides durability and resistance to harsh environments. It is equipped with an LED display that provides feedback, and operational controls such as NC contact/NO contact changeover and resetting to factory settings make it easy to configure and reset.
The sensor also includes 2x M18 mounting nuts for secure installation and features an IP 67 rating, offering protection against dust and water ingress, making it suitable for industrial applications.
