The Leuze FT5.3/2N Diffuse Sensor  is a compact and reliable energetic diffuse sensor designed for precise object detection in short-range industrial applications. Utilizing a 620 nm red LED, this sensor operates on the diffuse reflection principle, making it ideal for detecting a wide variety of surfaces with varying reflectivity—from bright white to dark black materials.

It offers a guaranteed operating range up to 215 mm for high-reflectivity surfaces (90% white), with detection capability down to 125 mm for dark objects (6% black). Its response time of 1 ms and switching frequency of 500 Hz ensure effective performance in moderately fast automation environments.

Housed in a durable ABS plastic body, the FT5.3/2N features a 4-wire cable connection, IP67 protection, and LED indicators for clear operational feedback. Its compact footprint (14 x 32.5 x 20.2 mm) and Teach button simplify setup and installation, even in tight spaces.

With both NPN light and dark switching outputs, the sensor provides flexible integration options across a wide range of machines and conveyors in manufacturing and packaging lines.
