Leuze PRK318B/4P-M12 Photoelectric Sensor

The Leuze PRK318B/4P-M12 Photoelectric Sensor (50116859) from Leuze electronic is a compact M18 retroreflective photoelectric sensor designed for accurate long-range object detection in industrial automation and material handling systems. Operating on the reflection principle, it provides a guaranteed sensing range of 0.02 to 4.5 meters when used with a LEUZE TK(S) 100×100 reflector, while offering a typical operating range of up to 6 meters.

The sensor utilizes a 620 nm pulsed red LED to ensure reliable detection with excellent resistance to ambient light interference. It features dual PNP transistor outputs supporting both Light Switching (Light-ON) and Dark Switching (Dark-ON) modes, providing flexible integration with PLCs and industrial control systems. Operating on a 10–30 VDC power supply, the sensor delivers a 500 Hz switching frequency, 1 ms response time, and a 300 ms readiness delay for dependable high-speed performance.

Its durable ABS plastic housing, M18 threaded body, and M12 A-coded 4-pin connector enable quick installation and secure electrical connections. The integrated LED status indicator simplifies alignment and operational monitoring. With an IP67 protection rating, the sensor is resistant to dust and water, ensuring reliable operation in demanding industrial environments.
