Panasonic PM-Y45 Photoelectric Sensor

The Panasonic PM-Y45 area sensor is a compact, high-precision solution designed for detecting extremely small opaque objects with outstanding speed and reliability. It features a fixed sensing range of 6 mm and can detect objects as small as 0.8 × 1.2 mm, making it ideal for high-accuracy industrial environments. With a hysteresis of just 0.05 mm and repeatability under 0.01 mm, this sensor ensures consistent and dependable performance.

Its dual output configuration supports both Light-ON and Dark-ON modes, with fast response times—20 μs under light received and 80 μs under light interrupted conditions. Engineered with short-circuit protection, IP64-rated enclosure, and NPN open-collector outputs, the sensor integrates safely and easily into existing systems. An orange LED indicator signals active detection.

The Panasonic PM-Y45 area sensor is built to withstand challenging environments, with excellent shock and vibration resistance, and operates in ambient humidity from 5% to 85% RH. Its infrared LED emitter and rugged housing deliver reliable performance in tight, high-speed applications, including micro-part detection and positioning systems.
