The Panasonic CX-442 Photoelectric Sensor is

a versatile and high-performance distance-adjustable photoelectric sensor, ideal for precise object detection in industrial automation. With an adjustable sensing range of 40 to 300 mm, it provides flexible operation for various applications, while maintaining reliable detection starting from 20 mm distance.

Equipped with BGS (Background Suppression) and FGS (Foreground Suppression) modes, this sensor ensures accurate detection even in challenging environments with varying backgrounds. It features an NPN open-collector output with switchable Detection-ON/OFF operation, making it adaptable to different control systems. The 5-turn mechanical distance adjuster allows precise tuning for optimal performance.

Designed for efficiency, it operates on 12–24 V DC with low power consumption (≤ 20 mA) and a fast response time of ≤ 1 ms, making it suitable for dynamic automation processes. The IP67-rated housing ensures excellent protection against dust and water, while dual indicators (orange for output, green for stability) provide clear operational feedback. The red LED light source (650 nm) ensures precise sensing with a defined spot diameter.
