The Panasonic FD-31 Fibre Optic Sensor (Part Number: UFD31) is a highly reliable and versatile reflective-type fibre optic sensor designed to deliver precise object detection in a wide range of industrial applications. This general-purpose sensor operates across multiple sensing ranges, including 125 mm (standard), 515 mm (HYPR), 290 mm (U-LG), 220 mm (long), 80 mm (fast), and 25 mm (H-SP), making it adaptable to different object sizes and detection scenarios. The sensor's fibre cable length is 2 meters, and it supports a bending radius of R2 mm, providing added versatility for installation in tight spaces.
With a beam axis accuracy of 150 micrometers and a beam axis inclination tolerance of ±3 degrees, the FD-31 ensures precise and reliable detection in high-speed, high-precision applications. The IP67-rated housing protects the sensor from dust and water ingress, allowing it to function effectively in harsh environmental conditions. Additionally, the FD-31 operates within a wide temperature range, from -55°C to 80°C, making it suitable for extreme environmental conditions.
